We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join a very well-established engineering firm close to Stanton in Suffolk. This is a great chance to join a very stable workforce in a full-time permanent capacity.
Our client have been designing and manufacturing machinery for the agricultural markets for over 40 years and have achieved enormous success due to their reputation for quality products. They are also a great employer, who look after and keep their staff???many of their workers have been there for 10+ or even 20/30+ years!
Taking responsibility for all Quality Inspection duties and processes to continue improvements within the department, the Quality Inspector will work to improve and implement process changes to ensure quality errors are kept to a minimum.
Other duties to include:
* Performing measurements of all parts that require a quality check
* Maintaining gauge calibration status
* Final component and assembly inspection, sub-contractor supplied parts and incoming raw material
* Investigate fitting and build issues with the Fitting Supervisor
* Ensure all issues are documented and look for re-occurring parts trends
* Conducting and assisting with statistical studies as required
* Final machine inspection prior to shipment
* Dealing with rejects and field issues for the service department
For this role we are seeking a candidate with excellent core inspection skills and ideally some previous inspection experience within a previous role. It could be within a QA department or as part of a role within a manufacturing/ engineering environment.
We are seeking the following skills and experiences:
* Previous experience within a similar role would be highly desirable
* Demonstrable experience of calibration activities, reading micrometres, bore micrometres, welding gauges and hardness testing equipment
* The ability to produce non-conformance reports/ rejections and associated Root Cause Analysis
* Computer literate with the ability to read engineering drawings
* A strong team player with excellent attention to detail
* The ability to work unsupervised with the confidence to make informed decisions
* A positive and proactive attitude with a "can-do" outlook to finding solutions
Our client are offering a very competitive basic hourly rate for a core working week of 39 hours per week, working from 8am - 4:30pm Mon to Thurs, and 8am - 3:30pm each Friday.
