An exciting opportunity has arisen working within a UK leading consultancy providing systems and engineering technology to customers in the defense, nuclear, power & energy, civil aerospace, rail, marine, petrochemical and industrial sectors. The vacancy exists within the in house acoustics practice based in Manchester. A candidate suitably qualified with significant consultancy experience, preferably within noise modeling, vibration monitoring and assessment is required to manage and grow a team of committed and enthusiastic consultants, and become part of a large and rapidly expanding world class systems and engineering technology organization.

Qualifications
Degree or post-graduate qualification in an acoustics-related subject

Experience
Noise and vibration exposure/health and safety
Noise control engineering
Acoustic radiation/propagation prediction techniques such as SEA, FE/BE
Leading noise and vibration measurement trials and surveys
Underwater Acoustics
Considerable post graduate experience in Acoustic Consultancy
The ability to demonstrate a proven track record in effective project and people management.
Personal experience of Noise Modeling using a recognized software package.
Extensive and detailed understanding Environmental Acoustics.
Familiarity in using noise monitoring equipment.
Strong project management skills.

Duties
Resolving complex acoustical engineering issues assuring compliance with statutory bodies
Managing noise issues related to the planning process
Summarising data interpretations and providing conclusions
Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines
Managing project teams to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines, financial forecasting and control of projects to ensure that they remain within budget
Lead and support less experienced consultants,
Overall project management, responsibilities involving costs, performance and spend against budget, quality, deadlines, delivery of reports and presentations
The negotiation of new business and other deliverables.

Projects
