Tour Guide / PCV Driver

What will this role of Tour Guide / PCV Driver entail?
As a Tour Guide / PCV Driver, you'll predominantly drive a double decker bus containing groups of around 70 people across the safari park, providing informative and entertaining commentaries as you drive. When you're not driving the bus, on an ad hoc basis you'll have the opportunity to deliver close-up, once in a lifetime experiences in a Land Rover Defender 110 to small groups of up to 7 people. You'll drive your guests off the beaten track and provide them with unforgettable memories of our animals.
You'll be given comprehensive and on-going on-the-job training and support to develop your knowledge, so that in turn you'll be able to provide exciting tour commentaries and information about all aspects of the safari park, visitor attractions and the Estate, showcasing your knowledge on specialist species and individual animal behaviour. You'll consistently go above and beyond a typical day-to-day service to ensure all of our guests have a truly memorable experience.
Through all seasons you will utilise your excellent driving skills to manoeuvre through the park in a safe manner, and you'll also be responsible for carrying out daily checks to ensure your vehicle is clean and suitable for use.
What will I need to be considered for this Tour Guide / PCV Driver vacancy?
* Full UK Driving and PCV licence with CPC required
* Proven experience driving vehicles in a demanding situation
* Ability to recall large amounts of information and communicate to large groups in a confident manner
* Energetic and enthusiastic with a passion for delivering a first-class customer service
* Honest, reliable and flexible to work extra hours / weekends as required
* Ability to work under pressure and thrive working in a busy environment
Please note the successful applicant must have access to own transport due to remote location and also successfully pass a Safety Critical Medical Assessment.
What will I receive in return?
When performing safari bus driver duties, you'll receive a pay rate of GBP9.35 per hour, with pay rate for providing VIP tours to be discussed at interview. In addition, you'll receive a range of attractive benefits that include; 29 days holiday (pro rata) inclusive of bank holidays, complimentary tickets to Longleat and Cheddar Gorge and Caves, discounts on food and beverages and retail merchandise, along with life assurance cover and more perks.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of Work: You'll work on a weekly rota basis with varying hours, working a minimum of 130 hours per 13 weeks
Please note, due to the nature of the business evenings and weekend work will be required, including bank holidays.
