Supportive and Specialist Palliative Care Co-Ordinator

£20,190 - £23,597 pro rata (Dependant on experience)

Permanent, 18 hours per week. Some weekend work required on a rotational basis

Queenscourt Hospice, a local charity providing specialist and supportive palliative care services for people of Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.  Our philosophy of care is ‘life is for living’ and that quality of life is paramount for those whose life may be shorter than otherwise expected.

The post holder will work as part of a multi-professional team, mainly co-ordinating the work of the Supportive and Specialist Palliative Care Services. The main duties include a wide range of administrative and secretarial tasks such as diary and rota management, liaison with other services in all healthcare settings, searching clinical databases, recording referrals, scanning patient clinical records, making patient appointments, taking calls from patients and families and passing them on appropriately to team members, dealing with distressed and bereaved callers, and written and verbal correspondence with patients, relatives and health professionals.  This post works across a 7 day week including weekend working on a rotational basis.

The post holder will be predominately based at Queenscourt Hospice with some work across Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals and within the Queenscourt community catchment area. You will require a driving licence and have access to a car.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a healthcare setting in a similar administrative role; experience of minute taking including the use of medical terminology and experience of liaising with healthcare professionals, patients and their families.
