We are currently seeking 3 Support Workers to join our team in Gloucestershire. You will need to have experience in support work, preferably within a housing background with a clear understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people.
Staff will receive and process referrals on behalf of vulnerable adults, carry out an assessment of their needs and develop a support plan to address them, in conjunction with the client. Support will include acting as the first point of contact for clients to achieve a secure housing environment, reduce social isolation and promote integration into the community. Support Workers will also coordinate the activities of Support Assistants and will act as a resource for the team in respect of specialist areas.
Candidates will need to have a relevant professional qualification in housing or social work, or equivalent experience, and demonstrable experience of providing a high quality, client-focussed service to vulnerable people. Experience of working with welfare and similar legislation, supporting clients to complete complex forms and also working with agencies is essential.
A flexible, responsive and solutions-focussed approach to service provision, including working hours and duties, is required and candidates must have access to their own transport. An understanding of housing options, best practice and an appreciation of issues around substance and domestic abuse, ASB and child protection would be an advantageous, as would a working knowledge of community languages.
