Regional Cat Welfare Advisor - North England and Scotland (home based)

As a result of our continued investment in all aspects of cat welfare, we are seeking regionally based Cat Welfare Advisors to join our Operations Teams. We are looking for two roles, one to cover North England and North Wales and the other Scotland, both roles will be home based in the respective region, for a fixed term period of 18 months.

Full time, 35 hours per week
Fixed term contract - 18 months
Home based, covering North England/North Wales or Scotland
GBP26,022.48 per annum plus excellent benefits (starting salary is subject to experience), plus a homeworker allowance and car allowance

Cats Protection is the UK's leading feline welfare charity. We help around 190,000 cats and kittens through our network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 34 adoption centres and homing centres.

The role will include supporting our volunteer fosterers, undertaking welfare assessments, maintaining accurate records and helping branches understand and adhere to our cat welfare policies. In addition, contributing to local action plans; building successful and supportive working relationships with volunteers; provide assistance with the recruitment, induction, training and on-going support of Welfare Officers and Fosterers and work with other Cat Protection teams, including field vets, Veterinary and Learning and Development, to assist in delivering initiatives that promote good cat welfare and share best practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in the animal welfare sector and working with volunteers; experience of working in an environment where compliance against an agreed set of standards is necessary and an aptitude for working with processes and systems. Equally, as important is the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders; communicating effectively and working collaboratively to problem solve and forward plan.

Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to handle multiple demands, manage your own diary, work to deadlines and knowledge of the animal welfare sector is essential. Travel will be a regular feature of the role including occasional overnight and weekend working.
