Bus Driver (Training Provided)
This role would suit someone that is in a customer service or retail role, we would also like to hear from people who have worked in the care or hospitality industry.
Stagecoach in Swindon currently has positions available for PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) licence holders and trainee drivers. We are looking for friendly, flexible and reliable people who enjoy engaging with the public, working on their own initiative and want to be play their part in keeping Swindon and Wiltshire moving.
As a qualified bus driver for Stagecoach in Swindon you will be an ambassador for the company and Swindon, providing a safe, friendly and reliable service to both residents and visitors of the town and the surrounding areas
Hours: Average 39 hours per week, 5 shifts over 7 days
Duties & responsibilities:
* Engaging with customer, making sure they enjoy a safe, pleasant and comfortable journey
* Ensuing the vehicle is driven safely at all times and to the high company standards as taught during the training period
* Issuing tickets and collecting fares
Training & qualifications:
All we ask is that you hold a valid driving licence. If you have held you licence for less than 2 years, you should not have any penalty points on it. From there, we can provide paid training to get you to PCV licence standard, including
* Tuition to pass modules 2, 3 and 4 of the PCV driving Test
* Vehicle and route familiarisation
* Ticket machine and ticket type training
* Detailed company polices and procedures training.
After you've completed your training, we won't abandon you. You will be paired up with an experienced colleague to support you in your new career. You will meet with your manager at regular intervals and obtain feedback on your progress. We will also want to hear how you think you have taken to the job and anything you'd like to feed back to us.
We will also provide you with the training you need to maintain your Certificate of Professional Competence. This training is focused on helping you to continually develop the skills that are vital to the role of a bus driver.

Regardless of your qualifications, our recruitment process includes a written theory test, a driving assessment and an interview, so we can get to know you better. Any offer of employment is conditional on obtaining satisfactory references, passing a medical and DVLA granting you a provisional PCV licence. Your continued employment will be conditional on you achieving your full PCV licence within a set time frame. You'll need to live in the Swindon area and have been a resident in the UK for 6 months or more
