Use your expertise to enhance the learner experience at Stoke on Trent College.

This varied role is very much about enhancing the student community and strengthening the learner voice within Stoke on Trent College. We will look to you to lead on the development of the Students’ Union, including acting as the returning officer for elections, co-ordinating Students’ Union Executive and Student Council meetings, and completing relevant documentation. You will also assist with the promotion of the College’s ‘Big Tutorial’ programme and organise a series of live events.

This is an exciting academic year for the Learner Involvement team with opportunity area grant funding for Sports & Enrichment, and ‘Activate’, a fund for non-sporting enrichment, building emotional resilience and developing essential life skills and, such as positive mental health & body image; digital skills and volunteering & leadership skills specifically targeting looked after children, unaccompanied asylum seekers, SEND (High Needs/EHCP) learners, disaffected young white & asian males, and young females.

Your experience of working in an educational setting will ideally be supported by a youth work qualification. Committed to securing development opportunities for young people, you will bring proven presentation, communication and interpersonal skills together with good IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office packages. Your organised, flexible and proactive approach and commitment to equality of opportunity will enable you to excel in this role.
