Sefton is a diverse and exciting borough where people can enjoy a great work / life balance.
We wish to appoint a Senior Arboricultural Officer who as well as providing advice on trees within Planning Services will be pivotal to the delivery of a commercial revenue for the service, working in collaboration with ‘Green Sefton’ colleagues.
If you have a passion for making sure that Sefton’s stock of trees is managed effectively and for the benefit of the Borough, this could be the job for you.
You will put the customer at the heart of the service, have a ‘can do’ approach, and excellent interpersonal skills.
You will have an arboriculture qualification or similar and will be well versed in relevant planning and development management legislation and procedures such as tree preservation order applications, enforcement and appeals.
You will have excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills and experience in working effectively and collaboratively within a local authority, across agencies, with the private sector and local communities.
You will have a commercial aptitude and clear ideas for how your role can generate income from the private sector.
