Night Shift - 8.30pm to 6.00am, Monday to Thursday

Salary between GBP35-38K DOE

Overview - The Production Manager will be working within a busy Pharmaceutical carton manufacturing environment. The Production Manager will report directly to the Site Manager and lead the Production Team by planning resources to optimise manufacturing efficiencies, working within the parameters of ISO9001, 14001, 50001 and PS9000.

The Production Manager will have responsibilities to manage and liaise with The Night Shift Manager.

The Production Manager will make clear and effective decisions on day to day activities within direct sphere of influence and through consultation with management, obtains clear direction on areas outside of direct influence/control/authority, closely monitor and control the delivery of the production schedule and regularly review and maintain performance measures; shift performance KPI's & output levels.

Role:

* Delivering 100% on-time schedule adherence.
* Optimise productivity.
* Take a leading role in standardising production systems and processes.
* Manage attendance & resource cover.
* Supervises all human resources effectively ensuring recruitment, training, appraisals and discipline are co-ordinated to reach departmental goals.
* Organises the departmental resources to meet the output and quality requirements of the production plan (Customer demand/Schedule adherence).
* Creates and Maintains Standard work for all operations, Audits process to ensure adherence to agreed methodology and practice.
* Provides clear communication of decisions to team.
* Communicates departmental and company information to the team.
* Liaises and communicates with other departments keeping management and operational staff informed of issues and actions that may impact them or their teams.
* Ensures that the ISO & internal quality system procedures are trained, followed and maintained in the department.
* Promote continuous improvement.
* Work closely with QA personnel to ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded, and production is right first time.

Requirements:

* Must have previous experience of being a Production / Technical Manager
* Must have pharmaceutical knowledge
* Would be preferable if someone had print experience
* Proven manufacturing experience with demonstrated process improvement experience and leadership skills.
* Exemplary leadership and communication skills to effectively manage objectives and projects.
* Good project management, analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills.
* Self-starter, able to lead cross-functional teams. Excellent man-management skills.
* Always acts with the best interests of the customer in mind. Committed to identifying then exceeding customer expectations. Recognises that value is defined by the customer.
* Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
* Understands the financial relationships within the weekly metrics. Manages the resources at hand to achieve the target results.
* Knowledge of safety, quality and continuous improvement techniques
* Takes initiative to drive those improvements through change to achieve the desired future state.
