Our Reading client is recruiting for a Electronics Repair Technician within Medical devices.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technician who wants to associate with healthcare technologies such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging, RF Coils, X-ray, CT scans and Ultrasound.

You will be part of an electronics laboratory team that mainly deals with a wide variety of complex medical devices that reach the lab for electrical repair.

Mechanical work is also required, for restoration and refurbishment, if a device is damaged. Other repairs involve power supply units (PSU), RF power amplifiers (RFPA) and IT troubleshooting.

Your main objective is to perform fault finding and repair electronic assemblies at component level.

For each repair, you are expected to determine the best practice, liaise with experts in and out of the company, source documentation and schematics where possible, source suitable parts, adhere with ISO and health and safety and regulations, document procedures and source equipment for future repairs. Thus, you must be someone with an inquisitive mind looking to understand how a device functions rather than replace a component when instructed. You will get accustomed to operating diagnostic imaging devices such as MRI and CT scans for testing and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, perform and document repair procedures.
* Receive relevant training to reach the required competency.
* Perform quality assurance on the repaired devices.
* Work as part of a bigger chain of operations of devices (customer service, field engineers, warehouse etc.).
* Ensure compliance with ISO and medical devices regulations as well as follow health and safety rules at all times. Report to the manager of the repair operations.

Candidate Profile

* Minimum 5-year experience in testing, troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies
* Experience in reverse engineering electronic devices, able to work without original schematics
* Degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
* BSc, HNC, HND, Military training.
* IPC certification (preferred valid 7011/21 CIS or CIT)
* Mechanical workshop experience desirable
