ASSISTANT EVENTS MANAGER

GBP20 - 24,000 per annum depending on experience

Based at a beautiful large estate which is open to the public and home to a number of small and large events, filming projects, together with parties, weddings and functions, along with other commercial outlets.

This new exciting position reports directly to the Events Manager. The right individual will play a key and critical role in the support, planning, delivery and procurement of new events, and the overall visitor experience within the Estate.

Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills are essential for this position, the Assistant Events Manager will be able to effectively communicate with all colleagues including senior managers, stakeholders, local authorities, partner agencies, visitors and residents.

This role will involve working evenings and weekends.

A driving license and car is essential

ROLE - ASSISTANT EVENTS MANAGER

  • Assisting in the planning and execution of all events and weddings
  • Ensuring that Event Management Plans are accurate, in line with current legislation and acceptable to Local Authorities / partner agencies
  • Coordinating different departments - caterers, contractors, rural teams, caretaker teams, house teams, equipment hire etc.
  • Researching, obtaining quotes and purchasing Event equipment
  • Act as key point of contact on Event days, troubleshooting with a hands on approach as required
  • Assisting in the achievement of set income targets and to work within the constraints of the expenditure budget
  • Reconciliation of Event income, cash handling and balancing of floats
  • Researching markets to identify opportunities for new suppliers/events to be added to the event programme.
  • Attending competitors Events and Trade Shows where required
  • Assisting in the delivery of new team / staff induction, training and briefings
  • Attending Safety Advisory Team meetings and take minutes
  • Prepared to work long and unsociable hours, with weekend and evening work common often outside

ATTRIBUTES - ASSISTANT EVENTS MANAGER

  • Some events planning experience gained at a hotel or conference centre
  • Excellent IT systems knowledge and skills including MS office programs/data bases, web knowledge and creativity
  • Experienced in the planning and delivery of projects
  • Customer focused and standards orientated
  • Excellent communication, organizational and administration skills
  • Ability to solve problems and proven experience in developing administrative
  • and operational processes
  • Ability to work on own initiative coupled with a positive attitude and a flexible approach to working hours as per business needs
  • Ability to cope under pressure, work to strict deadlines and deliver results against business objectives
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced operational environment is essential
  • Driver with current clean driving license
