Summary:

Are you highly numerate with strong analytical skills? Do you have a statistical or analytical background with experience of managing large sets of data? If so, an International Energy Supplier operating in the B2B retail energy space are looking for a Market Analyst to support the control and reduction of gas and electricity balancing costs via analysis of trading performance and market conditions. As the Market Analyst, you will ideally have some experience of working in the energy industry, so if you are numerate and looking for a career in energy, apply now! Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate adverse gas and electricity hedging and balancing costs and identify root causes
• Development of hedging & optimisation strategy proposals to mitigate balancing cost risk
• Monitoring the performance of shift team short term trading and forecasting
• Analysis of gas and electricity market trends
• Review of suitability of gas and electricity forward curves
• Production of balancing cost budget figures for both Electricity and Gas
• Development & maintenance of budget models and methodologies
• Production and distribution of Daily and Monthly reports

Skills and experience:

• Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
• Statistical or analytical background with experience of managing large sets of data
• Demonstrable approach to problem solving
• Proven ability to present information effectively
• Effective communication skills, able to build positive relationships
• MS Office proficient and VBA skills would be advantageous
• Knowledge of UK gas and electricity markets would be advantageous
• Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or specific related experience
