About the role:

Centre Club provides professional, friendly day care and support, on Tuesdays, to people living in West Sussex diagnosed with dementia.

The service gives members an opportunity to meet and mix with others in a safe and comfortable environment, and stimulation through social contact and meaningful activities, trips out in the community and an opportunity to pursue personal hobbies and social activities. We have an opportunity for a Day Support Manager to manage this service. The role requires working on a Tuesday, and a further half day a week which can be negotiated.

About you:

This is a role of considerable variety, influence and creativity. Working in the role of Day Support Manager you will be responsible for the overall management of this service using your expertise to ensure that our staff give people living with dementia excellent support, opportunities to enjoy activities and encourage independence. In addition to recruiting, developing and leading a dedicated team, you will conduct needs-led assessments and design tailored support plans.

You will also ensure that we meet all quality standards and regulatory requirements. Other key tasks will include managing budgets, maintaining accurate records and developing positive relationships with relevant statutory and voluntary organisations. You must be able to travel independently within the area.

You should be qualified to NVQ level 3 in health and social care or equivalent, and this must be supported by experience of person centered approaches in a dementia environment and a thorough understanding of the particular needs of people living with dementia and their carers. Proven ability to manage and develop teams is, of course, essential - and you will certainly have a solid grasp of relevant care standards and governing regulations. Excellent communication, budgeting and time management skills are also vital. This role involves regular use of IT packages; therefore a good standard of IT would be desirable.

If you are someone with a good sense of humour, can make things happen, know how to get the best out of people and has the experience to create and lead meaningful activities, then we want to hear from you.

Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely. All contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.
