Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a support member of staff to work on an Outreach basis in Penzance. You must have your own transport for this role. The role heavily involves working along side students with social and emotional mental health. Outreach workers will be supporting students with their education and life skills in their homes using public resources. The role is part time at the moment moving to full time and for the right candidates after a probation period a permanent contract will be offered.

Sports coaches or support workers work very well in these roles.

? Intervention

  • Supporting pupils in crisis through de-escalation techniques and strategies, preparing and supporting them to return to learning
  • Supporting staff and identified classrooms who require support with settling for learning
  • Deliver one-to-one intervention for students who need support on an outreach basis.
  • Keep accurate records of intervention on pupil intervention logs
  • Keeping Personal Handling Plans (PHPs) up to date
  • Keeping accurate records of Restrictive Positive Intervention logs and ensuring appropriate follow-up has taken place, including parent/carer contact and restorative practice

? Extra-curricular Activities

  • Supporting identified pupils in Outdoor education and extra curricular activities

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE E.n.g.l.i.s.h & M.a.t.h.s (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
