Position: Assistant Herdsperson/ General Farm Worker Ref: 2227

Location: Near Exeter

The Farm:

Progressive herd who are updating and looking to expand over the next 12 months. Currently milking 200 high yielding cows 3 times a day through a 10:20 swingover herringbone parlour, which is currently in the process of being updated also. Looking for an assistant herdsperson/ general farm workers who will be doing predominantly milking, some yard work and GFW. There is flexibility here for a candidate to take on as much or as little as they want if they want to progress and gain more qualifications they can do so and be supported by the farm, otherwise, if someone wanted less responsibility there is the work available for this also.

The Role:

Ultimately seeking a reliable, trustworthy candidate. We will consider both experienced, competent milkers as well as those with lesser experience who require some more training.

The Applicant:

We are happy to train someone if bit greener, but would also accept someone whose experienced, competent at milking, yard work, General Farm Work.

The farm will consider putting people through their AI and foot trimming etc if they are keen and committed, otherwise if people do not want to these courses that is fine also

Additional Info:

This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.
