SKILLED BUILDING MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE - CARPENTER
SALARY £21,067 - £23,112
We are looking to recruit a fully qualified and experienced carpenter to work within our Building Services Department. The post holder will primarily be working as part of our Voids Team, refurbishing vacant properties across the district and bringing them back to an agreed standard. Dependent upon workload and priorities the successful candidate may also be required to work within our Responsive Repairs or Adaptations teams.
Work will be varied comprising of general carpentry tasks, kitchen fitting, guttering, fencing, UPVC door and windows repairs/replacements, roofing repairs, wall tiling, glazing, basic plumbing, basic decoration, and making good.
For this post you must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in carpentry, and have at least 2 years post qualification experience. It is essential that the post holder is confident and self-motivated at all times. Experience of mobile working solutions and hand held devices' is desirable
The hours of work will be 37 per week with a degree of flexibility and on occasions there may be a requirement to work on Saturdays. The successful candidate may also be required to be part of the 'out of hours' emergency service.
