Bloxham School have an exciting opportunity for a General Assistant - Catering to join their Catering Department based in Banbury, Bloxham.
Job Title: General Assistant - Catering
Location: Banbury, Bloxham
Salary: GBP8.88 an hour + benefits
Job Type: 2x15 hours and 1x7.5 hours working a shift pattern of 5 over 7 to include weekends and evenings
The team of General Assistants provide support to the chefs in the school dining hall. You will have a range of duties including serving and cleaning.
General Assistant - Catering - Key Responsibilities:
- This is a general food service role
- You will work as part of a team on a shift pattern which includes split shifts across mornings and evenings five days per week with 2 days off
- Assisting with laying out food and dishes prior to meal time
- Assisting with serving at the servery counter
- Cleaning dishes and operating an industrial dish washer
- Keeping the dining hall and kitchen clean
- The food service team assists at functions and events throughout the year. Advance notice is given if required to work. The events are usually evenings but not always
General Assistant - Catering - Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Willingness to work as part of a team
Desirable:
- Hospitality / events experience
- A shift pattern of a maximum of 5 days over 7 (including evenings)
General Assistant - Catering - Benefits:
- GBP8.88 an hour
- 21 days' holiday pro rata
- School meals provided when on duty
- Membership of school's defined benefit pension scheme with 3% employer contribution
