Prisoner Custody Officer (PCO) / Driver/ Driver Escort

Leicester Vehicle Base, GEOAmey Scottish Court Custody and Prisoner Escorting Service Contract

GEOAmey has been awarded the contract for the Scottish Court Custody and Prisoner Escorting Service (SCCPES), on behalf of the Scottish Prison Service and Criminal Justice Partners, which is due to start operating during January 2019.

GEOAmey will provide all court custody and escorting services in Scotland, based from eight vehicle bases and covering all court locations. This includes escorting all people that are required to be presented to court from prisons and police stations in mainland Scotland and the islands as well as all external visits, for example taking those in prison to hospital. In total, we are expecting to conduct around 170,000 prisoner movements each year in addition to providing officers to manage court custody suites and staff court docks.

Our Prisoner Custody Officers' (PCOs) primary responsibility is to ensure the welfare of the people in our custody, providing care and support during their time throughout their time in transit and whilst in the court system. It is an immensely rewarding role that provides a wide spectrum of responsibilities and will especially appeal to those with a sense of public duty and a willingness to support your fellow citizen.
