Ryall & Edwards – General Manager

We are an established Timber and Fencing Company based in Outwood Redhill, with the business being established just after the First World War in 1922.

Ryall & Edwards are looking to recruit a General Manager as part of our successful team. The business is able to offer a small and friendly team based atmosphere, where you will be able to exercise a good deal of autonomy, whilst enjoying the support of a hard-working team.

In this role, you would be responsible for all aspects of the business, including sales and buying, managing the yard resources, controlling goods in and goods out processes and building on long standing success and profitability.

The ideal candidate for the role will have a solid knowledge within the Timber trade, and a proven acumen including working within tight deadlines and margins. You must ensure you can deliver an excellent level of customer service, and are able to build good working relationships.

You would need to demonstrate flexibility and team working to inspire, lead and motivate the team working closely with you.

Key skills required for the role include (but are not limited to):

~Proven management experience

~Microsoft Office (including Excel at Intermediate level/above).

~Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

~Strong planning and organisational skills. 

~Working knowledge of safe working practices within a yard environment.

~Able to work to tight deadlines.

~Identify improvements in working methods.

~Take responsibility for labour, product and customer service.

~Ability to lead and motivate a team.

~Be prepared to continue work in all weather conditions

~Valid UK driving license.

Working hours are from 07.30am until 17.00pm (42.5 hours a week)
