£10.00 - £12.00ph + Overtime Payments + Benefits + Field Service Engineer Training

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week basic + alternate weekend working

This is a great opportunity to learn and develop your engineering skills in the workshop and in the field with additional possibilities to earn overtime payments through weekend working. Full on-the-job training would be provided.

We are an expanding family owned business with a long history in the Poultry industry and are looking for a multi-skilled machine operator who has the ability and aspiration to also develop and work alongside our engineering team as a Field Service Engineer at the weekends. Our strength is extensive knowledge of and expertise in Meyn and their products, which enables us to provide excellent technical support and advice to our customers as a leading provider of spare parts, servicing, installations and machine overhauls. Our unequivocal goal is to keep plants running with minimal disruptions by providing quick and efficient service. 

Further responsibilities of the role are:

+ Conduct machining operations as required using the mill, lathe, pillar drill etc
+ Interpret manufacturing drawings, technical instructions and written specifications
+ Assembly of components to drawing requirements
+ Accurately notch, punch, cut and bend materials to drawing requirements

About you:

To undertake the role, you will need the following qualification, skills and experience:

+ Minimum 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including Mathematics and English
+ NVQ/HNC in an engineering discipline is desirable
+ Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures and regulations, maintain a safe, clean and tidy work area
+ Problem solving
+ Proactive
+ Excellent communication
+ Strong team working skills
+ Customer focused
