The Job

You will be responsible for safe delivery of Task and Standard Projects in order to deliver defined business and customer benefits

Your key accountabilities will involve providing focused leadership for the safe and effective delivery of Task/Standard Projects to meet contractual obligations, achieve excellent customer satisfaction, deliver contracted (or ahead of) schedule and cash flow as well as achieve as contracted (or improved) margin and provide accurate financial forecasts.

You will be responsible for the delivery of Task/Standard projects that are low risk and requires a tried and tested approach, low impact from a legal/regulatory, operational effectiveness and reputational perspective. Involve few and well known stakeholders and will be delivered through a small project team.

Application of appropriate project governance in-line with the QinetiQ Operating Framework and leadership of the project team. You will need to develop and maintain relationships with customers, management of external and internal stakeholders and generate accurate work load forecasts to support resource planning within the business and functions.

Develop and maintain key project documents including Project Management Plan, Risk Register and Project Reporting Pack. Effective communication to internal stakeholders of project progress, risks and timely escalation of project issues

and conduct Lessons Learnt during the course and at the completion of each project.

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

. Project Management competence equivalent to IPMA level D
. Ability to solve problems
. Good communication and interpersonal skills
. A level of commercial awareness
. Knowledge of other functional disciplines related to project delivery (eg finance)
. An understanding of budgeting and resource allocation
. An understanding of the wider Defence and Security context
. Knowledge of the LTPA and the Land & Weapons ranges and facilities
. Knowledge of the Land domain stakeholders and business drivers across MOD and Industry

Experience & Qualifications

. APMP qualification or equivalent
. Previous demonstrable experience of delivering Task/Standard projects within the Land domain
