Head of Health and Safety Development

Circa £150 - £225 per day depending on experience. 

The position is available as a salaried, fixed term, part time role for 40 days per year (spread across the year with flexibility, typically one day per week, occasionally two) or for short-term contracts with freelancers/consultants.

Cardiff University Students’ Union is looking for an experienced Health and Safety professional to help support the continued development within the organisation. The role would suit someone with either Outdoor Pursuits experience, or Event Health and Safety experience; however competent office based/construction health and safety professionals should also apply as experience is not essential.

The role will offer rewarding work covering the following diverse areas:

  • Event Health and Safety across several venues for events up to 3500.
  • Supporting the safety development of our 67 sports clubs and 200 societies.
  • Large city centre building with regular refurbishment works.
  • Occupational health related safety for 100 career staff, 300+ part time workers, across   varying departments/businesses.

We are looking to recruit someone to work closely with our internal departments to help managers develop safety within their area, as well as supporting general organisational safety policy development and understanding safety audits and accident investigations.
