When you’ve trained together, side by side, learned things no classroom can teach you. When you’ve lived together and worked together, it creates a bond like no other. A bond that lasts a lifetime, and sees you through whatever life throws at you.

The Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) is the team that makes things possible. It gets the right kit to the right people in the right place at the right time. If it didn’t, the Army couldn’t function. As a Traffic Controller in the RLC, your job is to direct and control people and vehicles usually at ports, airfields and railway terminals worldwide. It’s a great opportunity to travel and to learn new skills such as admin procedures, using radio equipment and navigating specialist computer systems. You’ll help keep troops, vehicles and supplies moving swiftly and safely, giving teams all they need to complete operations successfully. You need to be organised and good with people including more senior soldiers and officers. It also helps if you’re able to think on your feet.

If you want to feel part of a close-knit team, the RLC is for you. Although it’s the biggest Corps in the British Army – with more regiments than any other – there’s a real family feel, as well as pride in a job well done. You will meet some of your best mates and make memories you’ll never forget. You’ll travel together, learn together and by working together, you’ll make things possible for troops on operation – ensuring they have everything they need in the time they need it for.

WORLD-CLASS TRAINING

Join us and you’ll start by learning the soldiering skills common to every member of the British Army, like outdoor survival and the safe handling of weapons. After this, you have a seven-week course at RAF Brize Norton to learn your trade. You’ll be supervised by experienced staff and trained to monitor transport, put movement plans into action and enforce regulations. We’ll also teach you about reserving seats, berths and stowage space.

GAIN QUALIFICATIONS

The Army can help you gain a range of qualifications. These could include:

• Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (FMA)
• NVQ Level 2 in IT
• Hazardous Materials
• International Air Transportation Authority
• Movement of Dangerous Goods qualifications
