Working to make sure our soldiers receive any urgent care they might need: there are few more important roles in the Army than our Combat Medical Technicians. Whether you’re operating under the expert guidance of doctors at a medical centre, or are right on the front-line, it will be down to you to administer emergency treatment, evacuate causalities and deal with the day-to-day medical needs of soldiers in conflict and peace time. It’s a role that is vitally important – and the BBC have taken inspiration from this role for their TV drama Our Girl, starring Michelle Keegan.

From responding to humanitarian crises to providing care in field hospitals, you’ll be directly responsible for looking after the lives of soldiers and civilians across the globe. WORLD-CLASS TRAINING

Join us and you’ll start by learning the soldiering skills common to every member of the British Army, like outdoor survival and the safe handling of weapons. Then you’ll learn the specialist skills that will make you an expert in your role. Over 23 weeks, you will complete a course combining classroom study and hands-on practice in medical centres and ambulance stations, before joining a medical regiment or field hospital for 18 months’ practical work experience.

GAIN QUALIFICATIONS

The Army can help you gain a range of qualifications. These could include:

• NVQ and City & Guilds Certification
• Diploma in Emergency and Primary Health Care
