About The Role

The Expert Witness team consists of 14 Consultants based all over the UK, with responsibility for investigating and reporting on incidents, primarily road collision, on behalf of solicitors and insurers. The Case Management team, based in Crowthorne, is led by a Case Manager with this full time role in support along with 2 Administrators.

Given our client base we are looking for an individual with a good knowledge of the legal system, in particular the methods employed by solicitors, insurers and the Courts to finance expert witness cases.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Dealing with clients, by email and phone, in a professional and timely manner to understand their requirements and ensure any financial limitations are clearly understood and considered
  • Using our CRM system to track and manage cases from enquiry through to case completion, working closely with the Case Manager
  • Liaising with the Consultants to ensure that estimates and invoices are handled efficiently and accurately
  • Responsible for monitoring case progress, raising estimates and invoices and working with Finance to chase bad debts
  • Creating regular financial reports
  • Taking on project management responsibility for small projects within the team

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of working in a legal environment
  • A thorough working knowledge of Excel and Word is essential, including the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets.
  • A logical and accurate approach, with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with enquiries in a professional manner, with good written and verbal skills.
  • Proven experience in working as part of a diverse team, handling multiple cases at any given time, with good time management skills.

Desirable

  • Ability to carry out proof reading of reports to identify and correct any grammatical or consistency errors
  • Experience of using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system
  • Project Management experience

Communication Requirements

Applicants must be able to demonstrate fluency in both verbal and written English, and have the confidence to communicate effectively with Clients and team members at all levels of seniority.
