We are looking for Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Quantity Surveyors, Apprenticeship Project Managers, Clerk of Works and administrators with expertise in new build construction (housing and education), capital works delivery (housing, education, built environment).

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

The successful candidate will be responsible for cost management, cost planning and quantity surveying services and contract advice in relation to the management of the construction framework agreements. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Assistant Construction Directors and the construction teams to develop and implement strategies to maximise efficiency and ensure that best value for money is achieved.

Main responsibilities:

* Provide cost management advice from feasibility through to post construction

* Providing cost management, planning and evaluation advice at all stages of project development and delivery

* Input into risk management and value management processes, ensuring that programmes and projects can be delivered with agreed resources.

* Carry out initial inspection of site/buildings and provide advice as necessary on any matters relating to statutory and legal requirements, risks and opportunities

* Monitor design development against approved budget / cost plan up to tender stage / price submission and report any variances.

* Prepare tender documentation and price models

* Assist in tender price evaluation and undertake analysis and assessment of contractors priced documents and the preparation of reports

* Analyse, evaluate, report and where appropriate, negotiate on the pricing of projects with contractors.

* Analyse performance data and other information by producing reports that ascertain the performance of the Framework Agreements, consultants and contractors.

* Make recommendations to the Project Manager on any change or variations, ensuring that accounts are finalised within appropriate time periods.

* To liaise with corporate procurement and other support functions in the provision of e-procurement functions such as e-tendering and procurement

* Provide corporate advice and support to Managers on all construction and consultancy framework issues including the use of KPI's, project reviews, procurement options and contract strategies.

Requirements:

* Ideally a BSC in quantity surveying or commercial management and/or 3 years' experience in a commercial role

* Knowledge and experience of budgets and cost management

* Experience of working on large scale capital works programmes

* Good knowledge of IT systems and packages
