An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us in Welwyn Garden City.

Within this role, you will be responsible for all commercial functions of the contracts allocated; issuing contractual notices and communications both up and down stream, reporting monthly against budgets and ensuring subcontractors are paid at the appropriate times.

You will prepare and submit external valuations where appropriate on a regular basis to ensure Mears Group receive full payment for works and will also meet and/or exceed budgets/targets set at the commencement of the project.

In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have a minimum of 5 years contracting experience (10 years’ experience overall) and you should have worked at Senior Surveyor level before.  With commercial acumen, you will also have an understanding of forms of Contracts (JCT, PPC etc) along with strong Excel skills.

Although not essential, a professional qualification coupled with a commercial background would be beneficial.
