Our client is a provider of commercial maintenance and installation services to national and international companies. They offer adaptable, individual solutions to meet their customers’ needs.

Due to continued expansion, they are currently seeking to employ a Carpenter/Shop fitter with a multi-skilled background to join their thriving team based in East Grinstead. This role will involve project work such as exhibition builds, furniture installation, commercial refurbishments and showroom installations as well as all aspects of general maintenance predominantly in the South East region.

The Operative will be responsible for all aspects of carpentry and joinery on their projects and will also need to be able to carry out other trades as required; this may include decorating, wallpapering and tiling.

The successful candidate will have proven carpentry experience within the commercial and/or domestic industry, the ability to turn his/her hand to all repairs and installation tasks, and be self-motivated. A full driving licence is essential, customer service skills and a knowledge of Health & Safety are desirable.    

Hours of work are predominantly Monday to Friday, however some projects take place over evenings, nights and weekends and may require staying away from home. They offer a competitive salary, circa £26,000 to £30,000 basic plus overtime and other benefits.
