AMOG are now looking for a Renewable Energy Engineer to be based in Falmouth, working as part of a team on a Wave Energy Converter (WEC) project.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor, Masters or PhD in either Mechatronics, Mechanical, Ocean, Renewables or Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline.

Working with this global company it is likely that you will be required to undertake an initial, fully expensed business introduction and technical training in either the USA or Australia and once you have undertaken your overseas orientation (which may last up to 12 weeks) you will be based in the Falmouth Office working on tasks under the supervision of senior engineers. The successful person will be willing to travel overseas and within the UK for work if necessary.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Research and Develop ideas aimed at optimising the WEC design.
  • Development of the WEC hull design to maximise energy transfer from the waves to power take off system.
  • Research and Development activities to be carried out using numerical tools and supplemented by physical wave tank testing results.
  • Inspection activities (training will be provided)
  • Be able to run a project schedule, produce reports / document control to assist with ensuring projects stay on track and meet targets.

Required Knowledge, Education & Aptitudes:

  • Applicants must be educated to degree level, either Bachelor, Masters or PhD in either Mechanical, Ocean or Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Have a genuine interest in renewable energy
  • Be reliable and have excellent time management skills
  • Be highly motivated
  • Have great attention to detail
  • Willing to travel for work
