Brook Street Edinburgh is working alongside a successful, fast-paced multi-site manufacturing business who is working towards an ambitious growth strategy over the next few years.

As our client's business is expanding rapidly, they have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager to cover Scotland within their successful sales team.

The main purpose of the role is to deliver profitable business from new and existing customers in line with business objectives. 

Key areas of responsibility

  • Full profit and loss for your sales region
  • Managing your own region, as the primary point of contact for customers
  • Managing and developing key accounts supported by internal sales estimators
  • New business development through self-lead generation
  • Regeneration of lapsed accounts in line with business objectives
  • Sustaining market growth & delivering innovative strategies to develop new areas
  • Planning your own diary, visiting current customers and new prospects
  • Field-based 4 days per week and home based for 1 day
  • Following up all enquiries with visit reports in the company CRM software

Essential skills

  • Market knowledge of laser cutting process and principles
  • Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, general fabrication and welding
  • Steel sector material knowledge
  • Knowledge of CE marking and ISO standards
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Strong literacy & numeracy skills
  • Previous field-based sales experience
  • Good attention to detail
  • CAD knowledge (advantageous)
