A successful IT company in West Sussex requires an enthusiastic Project Engineer to plan, manage and deliver a variety of projects for its customers.
The Project Engineer is a strategic technical position within the organisation. This role is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of customer's systems and infrastructure, along with coordinating complex projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Engineer and implement solutions for customers using technologies that meet their needs
- Design, implement, and support Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Hyper-V, Exchange, SQL, O365, etc.
- Providing advice and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, VPN and security
- Implement and support disaster recovery solutions
- Consulting services to include system reviews and recommendations
- Communication with customers as required: project planning, project progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Visit client sites when required
- Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction
- Escalate service or project issues that cannot be completed within agreed timescales
- Business awareness - Understanding the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalogue and how it relates to customer's needs
- Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
Knowledge Skills and Ability Required
- Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, SonicWall CSSA, Cisco CCNA
- Good Interpersonal skills, comfortable communicating verbally and in writing up to C level
- Ability to diagnose and fix technical issues
- Good documentation and Visio skills
- Technical awareness - ability to scope projects and resources appropriately
- Experience of support tools and techniques,
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment
- Experience: IT 4 years (Required)
- Full, clean Driving License (Required)
