JP Morgan are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join our growing engineering team and build out the next generation of automation technology for our platform.

Looking for candidates with recent agile experience with writing user stories is key. The ideal candidate is a hands-on person that has strong background in implementing complex technologies.

We are looking for someone who can help the businesses implement solutions that facilitate:

  • Working with a team of software engineers and infrastructure developers to deliver component automation for application failover & resilience acceleration
  • Data analysis of the organization's need to ensure automation development effort is focused on the biggest return on investment
  • Recommending solutions to meet the business needs by working with technology teams that range from development and production support teams
  • Communicating with both management and non-management teams to design solutions
  • As part of the Automation Services Engineering (ASE) team you will deliver shared component automation for application failover & resilience acceleration.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Agile Product Backlog items for presentation to development teams and business owners including appropriate assumptions, acceptance criteria, User details, and non-functional requirements
  • Understanding what the business does and how it is accomplished and key process dependencies that may exist
  • Analyze business functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows
  • Assist in identifying scope of work
  • Makes business process improvement recommendations
  • Elicit requirements and document in either a Business Requirements Document format or, as Agile Backlog Items
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience; communication of business information to a technical audience
  • Co-ordinate testing efforts with Quality Assurance
  • Collaborate cross functionality with infrastructure developers, support teams, and other software engineering teams
  • Working with a team of software engineers and infrastructure developers to deliver automation frameworks that will be adopted by all technologists
  • Partners with Development leads to identify opportunities for better collaboration and process improvements
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvements

Qualifications for technical Business Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years' practical experience in business analysis required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in scrum/agile environments; Scrum certification preferred
  • Experience gathering requirements from the client/business and documenting
  • Experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and/or evaluation of business processes required
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) required.

o Scripting languages like Python, Perl, Shell, etc.

o Infrastructure automation technologies: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.

o Build automation technologies: Maven, Jenkins, etc.

o Monitoring technologies: Nagios

o Building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc.

o Creating a distributed streaming or messaging layer using QPID, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.
