Property Projects Portfolio Manager - London + Europe

About the Property Services team :

The Property Services team is responsible for overseeing the Hiscox buildings in the UK and providing help and guidance across the Hiscox global property portfolio.

The role :

The Property Services team is seeking a strong portfolio manager to provide structure around their projects. The role will be required to develop project ideas into sound business cases and then to resource, oversee and track these projects end to end. The quality of the project delivery, including the hand over to business as usual, will be monitored by this role. The portfolio manager will also be responsible for the portfolio budget.

Where capacity allows, the role is likely also to be required to project manage some of the projects in the portfolio.

What you'll be doing as Property Projects Portfolio Manager :

  • Supporting the business to create a solid property services project portfolio, facilitating effective decision making and business case creation across our UK and European based business units

  • Resourcing the projects and managing any conflicts within the portfolio for those resources

  • Overseeing the team of project managers, to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery

  • Tracking project delivery against the programme, taking action as necessary to ensure successful completion in accordance with agreed design specifications, timescales and budget costs.

  • Acting as an advisor to the US & Asian business units on project creation and delivery

  • Quality assuring all capital project delivery in line with Group Property Approach and Standards

  • Preparing and maintaining appropriate financial data on delivery of the capital programme/capital projects against agreed financial targets, timescales or other metrics.

  • Delivering as a project manager when required

Our must haves :

  • Proven track record managing a portfolio of 30+ projects

    Experience in a real estate environment, dealing with real estate projects

  • Experience recruiting, managing and motivating a diverse team of permanent and contract project managers

  • Demonstrated ability to ruthlessly prioritise, and to justify and communicate these priorities

  • Accurate finance tracking and understanding of capital and cash budgets

  • Highly presentable and able to communicate across the entire business

  • Robust stakeholder management across diverse business units. A proven influencer at all levels, able to build exceptional working relationships internally and with third parties

  • Self-motivated and enjoy working with a high level of autonomy and within a relatively unstructured environment
