- Work with the operational board in forming 3 year strategy to deliver owners objectives
- Work with operational board in unblocking current operational challenges
- Develop a clear strategic plan for supply chain, product and quality for next year
- Put in place clear resource plan including recruitment needs for next year
- Carry out zero budgeting on owned budget lines and feed into annual budget
- Oversee capital investment program for areas of responsibility
- Review re-forecast of budget to try and achieve savings
- Drive agreed recruitment programs and on boarding within department
- Oversee 90 day planning cycle within department
- Drive business improvement activity within department
- Lead and inspire all staff in whole department
- Oversee the setting of team KPI's in line with strategic plan
- Hold direct reports accountable for their goals in line with 90 day planning cycle
- Ensure accurate, current and signed off job descriptions exist for whole department
- Ensure current and signed off contractual information in place for whole department
- Put in place daily, weekly and monthly checklists throughout dept
- Overall responsibility for health & safety checks in department
- Ensure department expenditure is kept within signed off budget
- Oversee staff development and training for team
- Approve holiday for and maintain absence log for direct reports
- Drive forward strategic sourcing and innovation activity
- Oversee KTP project plan and ensure it is aligned to company strategy
- Oversee S&OP system to ensure smooth operation
- Overall responsibility for stock accuracy
- Overall responsibility for despatch on time in full
- Drive strategic warehouse improvement activity including capital investment
- Assist in clearing slow and obsolete stock
- Oversee business improvement function
- Oversee quality control activity ensuring compliance with ISO and driving improvement
- Oversee root cause analysis of complaints log and OTIF failures
- Drive improvements from root cause analysis throughout supply chain
- Control preferred supplier list including auditing, agreeing SLA's and monitoring
- Visit suppliers as required to engage and develop supplier relationships
- Find new suppliers to de-risk supply chain focussing on sustainable low cost
- Hold suppliers accountable for quality ensuring rapid resolution of issues
- Support Supply Chain Planner in holding suppliers accountable for delivery performance
- Benchmark supplier pricing and execute tender exercises to reduce costs
- Keep close watch on commodities, labour and exchange rate variance for negotiation
- Review carrier rates periodically and set up deals with carriers
- Sign off purchase orders above Supply Chain Planner limit
- Oversee fleet management
- Ability to inspire a team to deliver world class performance.
- Honest and reliable
- Strong personality with the ability to lead, mentor and strive positive changes
- A degree. CIPS and / or CIM qualification is a benefit
- Experience in a senior supply chain, commercial director or product director role preferably in sanitary / plumbing industry
- Specific software knowledge: Excel, ERP and MRP system knowledge
