Assistant Management Accountant

Our client a corporate accounts organisation are working alongside us here at Better People Ltd to source a proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join their dynamic team of 6 based in Wolverhampton.
Our client is a friendly professional practice offering interesting benefits including, study support, holiday buy scheme to add to annual leave, day off on your birthday and staff discounts on leisure activities ( after qualifying period)
Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Assistant Management Accountant will be responsible for several key areas of the finance function, including supervision of the general ledger functions and the maintenance of internal accounting systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the production of the monthly management accounts and support the business on a daily basis through business partnering
* Assist the Financial Controller in the production of budgets and revised forecasts
* Liaise with budget holders to discuss budget variances on a monthly basis
* Assist in the preparation of VAT returns on a quarterly basis
Experience and Qualifications
* Be self-motivated and achievement orientated
* Have the ability to work under pressure alone or a team
* Have a proactive approach
* ACCA/CIMA finalist or newly qualified
* Have experience in the completion of balance sheet reconciliations, pre-payments / accruals and journals
* Have significant experience managing month-end activities
