Kent Fire and Rescue Service have an opportunity for a Temporary Crewing Coordinator to join the Central Resourcing Team in Kent. You will join us on a full time, 1 year contract and you will receive a highly competitive salary of GBP21,199 - GBP23,903 per annum.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for delivering fire and rescue services to more than 1.8 million people in Kent. We work hard to keep local people, visitors and businesses safe. As well as fires the Service deals with a wide range of incidents ranging from road crashes to floods, cliff rescues to chemical spills.

The Crewing Coordinator role:

You will monitor operational crewing levels and identify where the future availability of fire appliances could be affected by insufficient crewing. You will coordinate and allocate resources to meet operational requirements. You will also be required to monitor duty rotas in line with agreed procedures.

You will be based at Service Headquarters in Tovil.

Key responsibilities as our Crewing Coordinator:

- Monitor operational crewing levels on a continuous basis and identify where the future availability of fire appliances could be affected by insufficient crewing, and identify when and where low levels of crewing need to be increased to meet operational requirements

- Coordinate and arrange the allocation of people to make up crews by utilising available resources in line with related procedures and protocols

- Monitor the level 2 & 3 Flexible Duty Rota and respond to requests for leave from Flexible Duty Officers in line with agreed levels and procedures

- Undertake a range of routine audits, utilising standard reports available from the Workforce Planning System

- Update 'working patterns' for On Call employees on the Workforce Planning System to reflect changes in cover as notified by Human Resources through the formal contract variation process

- Assisting and providing information in relation to crewing issues to Operational Planning during major incidents and spate conditions

What we're looking for in our Crewing Coordinator:

- Working knowledge of data analysis and application of analysis to identify trends and produce highlight reports for the Central Crewing Team Supervisor

- NVQ Literacy level 2 or equivalent, ie. GCSE English plus experience in preparation of written material to communicate information to others

- Good use of Microsoft Office, including practical knowledge of Excel and ability to develop general spreadsheets to prepare statistical information

- Ability to identify and develop effective ways of working with internal & external customers~

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
