We have a fantastic opportunity for a (Full-Time) Transport Supervisor to work in one of my clients live hauling operation in Coupar Angus, Scotland.

Job Title: Transport Supervisor

Responsible To: Transport Manager

Key Role Objective:
Administer the daily Live Haul operation ensuring a legally compliant and efficient Operation.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• Liaise effectively with the Transport Planner and the Fleet Management Provider or
garage to ensure that all scheduled maintenance intervals are strictly adhered to and
vehicles are presented on time.
• Constantly monitor the maintenance plan to ensure adherence and delivery.
• Liaise with 3rd Party Maintenance providers to ensure availability where required.
• Ensure all documentation from 3rd Party maintenance providers has been received
and has been completed correctly and meets the current legal requirements.
• Review and prioritise all VOR reports. Communicate to Fleet Management Provider
• Monitor MOT pass rates and maintain a view of Operator Compliance Risk Scores
(OCRS).
• Continuously review operations to improve best practice.
• Analyse routes to and from, factories to farms to ensure optimum routing for the
drivers, and accurate distances and travel times for the Transport Planner to use.
• Monitor Livestock and Environmental controls on site ensuring all bird welfare
requirements are being adhered to at all times, and take necessary action if welfare is
being / likely to be compromised.
• Monitor and ensure quality control of daily trailer, Moffett, module and basket hygiene
to agreed standards.
• Monitor and report damage to modules and crates. Organise repair and replacement
after consultation with the Transport Manager.
• Manage driver day to day issues, and address any grievances, and when
appropriate, escalate to the Transport Manager where appropriate.
• Ensure all agency /zero hours drivers have downloaded their cards every day.
• Ensure all drivers have downloaded their cards every week.
• Ensure all vehicle VU's have been downloaded every month
• Ensure all Tachograph and WT related infringements have been passed to the
Transport Manager and file all responses.
• Liaise directly with 3rd Party catching operators regarding catch audits and farm
feedback.
• Ensure all fleet related EU and UK legislation, ACP Regulations and Customer Codes
of Practice requirements are met at all times.
• Recognise and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures. Report
any non-compliance or malpractice to the Transport Manager.
• Review plan adherence data and identify actual volume and weight variances versus
plan and identify consequences.
• Observe and maintain all site security and visitor procedures.
• Review and action all drivers daily defect reports within 24 hours of receipt.
• Review and action all Moffett daily pre use defect reports within 24 hours of receipt.

• Any major repairs / safety defects should be referred to the Fleet Management
Provider or garage. Organise delivery and collection as and when required. Ensure
that all vehicles are road worthy and meet legal requirements.
• Effectively manage stocks of minor parts to agreed levels and minimise wastage of
redundant parts.
• Control and manage all Live Haul vehicles, fuel storage and dispensing facilities, the
weighbridge (where applicable), chemical storage, cab washing area, designated
module and crate storage area, and other areas / buildings under control on site.
Ensuring Customer, H&S, Environmental and other Legal compliance is adhered to at
all times.
• Observe and maintain all site security and visitor procedures.
• Record and organise repair of minor vehicle defects using parts in stock.
• Ensure orders are placed to replenish used parts and stocks.
• Ensure accurate wage and overtime information is compiled along with 3rd party costs
complete with justification.
• Provide holiday / illness cover for the Transport Planner as required.
• Ensure Live Haul training is kept up to date.
• Complete other cost or efficiency analysis work as required.
• Other duties as and when required as instructed by Line Manager
• Attend training courses which are determined as appropriate by the Company

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Strong effective communication both written and verbal
• An ability to work under pressure.

• Good numerical, analytical and logical thinker.
• Clearly demonstrate a "can do attitude" with a high awareness of costs.
• Posses a high degree of self-discipline.
• Knowledge of transport legislation and the WTD.
• Good geographical knowledge of the Region.
• The ability to maintain focus whilst working in a challenging environment
