Job Title: Infrastructure Manager

Location: Hampton Court Palace, London

Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Closing date: 28th October 2018

The Organisation is the charity that looks after six very important heritage sites: the Tower of London; Hampton Court Palace, Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland.

With more than four million visitors to their palaces a year and approximately 750 IS users across all sites it is crucial that their systems are fit for purpose.

Role Overview:

They are looking to appoint an Infrastructure Manager to join their established team and be a member of the IS Senior Leadership Team at Hampton Court Palace on a full time, permanent basis. This role will continually develop and provide high standards of IT Infrastructure and Network Services appropriate to the Organisations' needs that are highly available, proportionately secure, provide excellent value for money to maintain, scalable and compliant with regulatory standards. They are looking for this person to steer, plan and enable the migration from mainly on premise legacy systems to Cloud services (currently predominately Microsoft Azure).

The position will be based at Hampton Court Palace; however, you will regularly work from the other palaces in the organisation and participate in a IS Work Rota (to cover early and late starts) and IS Out Of Hours (OOH) Support Rota to provide support for out of hours events, incidents and service requests, as required.

The Candidate:

You should have proven technical skills and expertise in managing and maintaining (hands on) all the core components of a medium sized enterprise architecture and Cloud migration expertise and experience. Experience of migration from on premise to cloud / externally hosted services would be extremely beneficial. Analytical, specifically business case formulation and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of solution investments and extensive experience in the design, development, and implementation of Internet based services, software and hardware solutions and systems.

Extensive practical knowledge in Cloud services, ideally Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Server operating systems, configuration and desktop operating systems is a given along with Cisco LAN and WAN technologies (including firewalls and routers), Citrix, VPN, DNS, Proxy services and other remote access technologies.

As a line manager of a small team, you will have experience of mentoring and coaching with strong communication, people development and listening skills. To be successful in the role you will be proactive, excellent team leader with confidence, knowledge and authority.
