Receptionist - Term time plus 15 days

From 7:30 - 4pm
Salary: Grade 3 (outer London £20,136) FTE
41 weeks working - £16,000

We are looking for a receptionist for a local school, you should have reception or customer services and admin experience. Be willing to take on any duties without hesitation.

Organisation & Communication
o To fully manage the reception as the first point of call.
o To ensure all visitors feel welcome, are signed in appropriately and that their needs are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
o To deal with all correspondence, telephone calls, e-mails and visitor enquiries, ensuring that these are all directed to the appropriate persons.
o To monitor and deal with any concerns relating to communications with parents/carers or external agencies, reporting these to the appropriate person.
o To keep the reception area welcoming, tidy and orderly at all times.
o To ensure that any persons covering reception are well trained in procedures and practices to ensure consistency.
o To ensure that the outgoing mail is in order and picked up daily by the post office.
o To collect in forms, money for trips etc. from parents/carers and students, as appropriate.
o To assist in ensuring students cash cards are working appropriately.
o To administer first aid as required (once trained).
o To provide information to visitors and callers about the Academy as appropriate.
o To keep an overview of the Academy calendar and events so information can be passed onto parents/carers and students as appropriate.
o To keep the Academy telephone extension directory up to date.
o To ensure that the Principal's PA if fully briefed on any matters which have been brought to your attention via the reception.
o To attend to such duties on a daily basis as requested by the Principal, to enable the smooth running of the Academy

Other Duties
o To undertake such other duties as may be required, commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post holder and any duties on a daily basis as requested by the Principal.
o To be responsible for own professional development, identifying training needs and requesting courses as appropriate.
o Undertake invigilation of public examinations if required during examination cycles

Reporting to: PA to the Principal initially and then moving to Director of Strategic Resources once in post
Liaising with: Principal, Academy Leadership Group, other Coordinators, Subject Leaders, Student Support Services and relevant staff with cross-Academy responsibilities, relevant non-teaching support staff, parents and Governors and other stakeholders.
