They now have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Supervisor to join them at Birmingham Airport to ensure asset up time is maximised and equipment is maintained in accordance with Swissport’s stringent standards.

In the role you will maintain an efficient maintenance organization, manage the workshop and staff and ensure effective maintenance and repair facilities for all vehicles/equipment. Prioritizing and managing work for the fleet workshops, maximising productivity and optimising the availability of the fleet, you will conduct staff PDR’s along with training and development of staff in technical and regulatory requirements.

Managing the budgets of the workshops and ensuring staff are aware of and adhere to the relevant risk management standards, you will manage the integration and documentation of all new equipment and vehicles on fleet, assisting with risk assessments and SSOW for new equipment in line with health and safety.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience of successful management of a team of maintenance staff and a good level of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic engineering experience. With evidence of advanced theoretical and practical knowledge across the broad range of specialist fields encompassed within vehicle engineering, you will have a Technical Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and knowledge of lean techniques and the application of 6S management plans and activities.

Flexible to work various shifts and able to speak and understand the English language, you will have a full driving licence (and ideally a Forklift licence) and excellent communication skills. Previous experience of working in an aviation environment will be beneficial however is not essential.
