Gardens and Grounds, part of the University External Estates, is searching for a trainee/labourer to help an experienced Stone Mason maintain the extensive range of garden walls and structures within its grounds.
The majority of walls are constructed from natural stone and lime mortar which need regular maintenance; and you will be involved in selection of materials; shaping stone; mixing mortar outdoors and in all weather conditions (sometimes working at heights on scaffolding.)
If you would like a practical job where you need a high level of attention to detail, and in return, will receive experience of working safely with brick, stone and mortars; you could be well suited to this work.
