A vacancy has arisen in the Offshore Projects & Engineering division of this leading marine industry design consultancy at its smart new offices close to Aberdeen Airport.

Reporting to the Business Stream Project Finance Manager, based in Newcastle, the main duties of the role will be to:

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide financial & administrative support to Project Managers (PM) by ensuring that all Projects/ Cost/Time/Resource's (CTR) have the following documentation in the project files.
A. Approved Project/CTR Budgets
B. Customer PO's
C. Supplier PO's & Invoices
- Assist PMs by preparing reports showing Project/CTR costing vs. Job Budgets to monitor Project/CTR progress to date & allow PM to estimate costs to complete.
- Prepare draft invoices complete with backup for approval by PM and Finance.
- Ensure Change Control is rigorously implemented on assigned project(s) to protect the company's Commercial position and reputation.
- Progress customer payments by following up with customer administration to ensure invoices are approved for payment 10 working days prior to due date and follow up as appropriate until payment has been received.
- Maintain project cost filing system in accordance with the project/corporate numbering system, where appropriate.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports by reviewing project costs and revenues to date with Project Managers to provide Finance project status information for inclusion in the Group Accounts.
- Contribute, where necessary to monthly Oil and Gas project based revenue forecasts including cost accruals.
- Assist Project Director in the preparation of annual and quarterly budgets for the Oil and Gas sector.
- Assist in the development and implementation of improved financial reporting formats using the Company's financial system - Opera.
- Interface with other functions in particulars, the financial department in London, to assist the cost accounting process.
- Travel to job-sites & company offices, as required.
- Carry out internal financial audits to ensure that all work is carried out in accordance within the agreed Management System and Procedures.
- Provide back-up assistance to other back office support staff in activities including travel booking, switchboard duties and facilities management.

Essential Knowledge/Qualifications:

- Higher Grade in English and Mathematics
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) Hons in Accounting and Finance

Job Specific Requirements:

- Ability to travel
- Advanced experience with all Microsoft Office Functions, in particular Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
