As the Catering Supervisor at TouchBase Pears in Birmingham you will help to manage a high quality café and the catering provision at the centre; this café will serve people Sense supports, the local community and also staff based at the location.

About the role
This is a hands-on supervisory role, working in the café to motivate, energise and support the front-facing team; including training new staff and volunteers, ensuring environmental health standards are met to a high standard and that everyone on the team is confident to contribute. You will co-ordinate catering for events, including liaising with external and internal room bookers. In addition, you will be responsible for keeping our till systems up to date, for day-to-day cash handing, and maintaining stock figures.
The Catering Supervisor will be a key part of the life of the centre and will be part of the Duty Manager/Keyholder rota; you will have high levels of engagement with all the people that access the building. An ability to work flexible hours including regular early mornings, some evenings, and most Saturdays is essential.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have experience of a supervisory role in a catering environment and the ability to work with enthusiasm, efficiency and energy and motivate others to do the same. With an outstanding eye for detail, you will ensure that the standard of catering is outstanding at all times.
You will have the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people and an interest in learning new communication methods to help support volunteers within the building.
It is essential that you hold a food hygiene qualification, and would ideally have some experience of delivering on-the-job training. You will be confident with basic food prep and other kitchen processes to support our Chefs as needed.
