This is an exciting opportunity for an ‘energetic Registered manager’  who is positive, enthusiastic and motivated  with excellent leadership skills, who has a desire to make a difference to help young people develop skills to support and fulfil their life’s ambitions.  The aim’s of the home are to provide a safe haven in which children and young people can learn appropriate life skills and behaviour, which will help them to live fulfilling lives beyond their time and experience in care. The successful candidate will be required to work with 5 young people with emotional behavioural difficulties (EBD) recruiting and retaining a new team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day to day running of the Home in line with the homes policies and procedures, Ofsted requirements and Local Authorities' expectations
  • Take on call responsibilities when required
  • Building relationships with children/young people to support them build self-esteem and assist in the development of new techniques to improving their behaviour
  • To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each child/young person
  • Implementing strategies such as planned daily activities, coordinated treatment interventions, organised recreational and social activities
  • To be required to provide appropriate guidance and support to staff
  • Attend regular training and development opportunities to maintain up to date knowledge and safeguarding, health and safety and local policy developments
  • Undertake administrative tasks, maintain effective recording systems
  • Working with children with challenging and emotional behaviour in a residential care setting
  • Leading and managing a team of support workers - recruitment, retention, supervision and development
  • Financial management
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and community engagement

Minimum requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services or a Social Work degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a children residential setting within the last 5 years
  • At least 2 years’ experience of supervising and managing staff
  • Current or previous registration with Ofsted is essential
  • Drivers Licence
