Length:2-3 months
Hours:28 hours (flexibility on days worked)

Our client, a respected national children's Charity, are recruiting for a Project Worker to work on their Cumbria based Missing for Home service.
The successful candidate will be conducting return to home interviews with children and young people who are returning home following a missing episode. You will be working with children and young people who are either in care, on a child protection plan or a child in need plan. It is important that the child is offered support as early as possible in order to protect them from harm and prevent the risks from escalating further.
You will be working with the child or young person in a time sensitive manner to establish what has caused them to run away, what experiences and individuals they encountered whilst away and what could help resolve the issues that the child identifies.
You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work creatively and flexibly in order to quick build rapport and trust with the clients in order to engage them with the service and fully understand their reasons for running away and the risks associated.
You will be carrying out Return Home assessments, identifying risks and making referrals accordingly. You will be identifying the child (and in some cases the wider family/ carers') needs and signposting/ referring them to additional services, professionals and organisations.
They will be working with children and young people with a range of needs/ issues including family breakdown, substance misuse, mental health, domestic violence, sexual abuse, neglect, peer pressure, bullying and those experiencing/ at risk of CSE.
Requirements:
•Knowledge of Safeguarding Children policies and guidelines and strong reporting skills
•Previous experience working with vulnerable young people - this can include supported housing, social care/ work, therapeutic support and/ or youth work
•They are looking for someone who is persistent and resilient and who is able to work flexibly in order to best engage the young person
