Programme Manager (RIIS18/01)

£40,792 - £48,677 per annum

Staffordshire University is in the midst of exciting times. In a landscape of seismic change in Higher Education, we have launched a new Strategic Plan and are reshaping the way we work, to ensure that we are fit for the future and able to seize emerging opportunities and deal with challenges. This has engendered an optimism and energy amongst our staff and students, who are playing a central role in shaping our future.

We recognise that we have to improve our performance against relevant benchmarks and in external league tables, but we are pleased that we are beginning to see a step change. In 2017, our NSS outcome in overall student satisfaction was 85%, one per cent above the sector average. Recently the University was rated number 1 in the UK for graduate employability (excluding specialist colleges) for students in employment or further study, as measured by the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey. In 2017, we saw a rise of 14 places to 69th in the Guardian league table, in June, we were pleased to receive silver status in the TEF, and in September, we saw a rise of 29 places to 63rd in the Good University Guide league table. Most recently, the University has secured the biggest climb of any UK university in the Complete University Guide 2019 rankings.

We pride ourselves on our work with partners at every level. We are a university that is both of and for our city and region, maximising the impact of our presence in Stoke and Staffordshire. With our focus on applied learning and research, we work with partners in industry and business across all of our activities

As part of our regional role as an anchor institution, Staffordshire University has secured funding from European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF) to lead and deliver the Staffordshire Digital Innovation Partnerships (SDIPs) programme.  Over the three-year programme thirty-six digital innovation partnerships will be delivered in the SSLEP area in collaboration with eligible Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. Each of the partnerships will last 24 weeks and will maximise impact and foster ongoing innovation work between partners that strengthens industry-research links.

We are looking for a Programme Manager with significant experience of managing European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) projects to manage the Staffordshire Digital Innovation Partnerships (SDIPs).  The role holder will lead, co-ordinate and manage project activities, ensure compliance and meeting of the outputs profile and KPIs.

The Programme Manager will work closely and align with Employer Partnerships team to promote the SDIPs programme to businesses, ensure eligibility and be responsible for a Project and Portfolio Officer who will support the operational elements of the project.

This role is part-financed by the European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF).
