This role will be responsible for providing comprehensive advice & support on fire safety, supplying compliance and issues resolution with specialist know-how control & audit, budget control and delivery planning.

What you'll be doing:

• Ensure that client remains legally compliant on all Fire Safety issues and that Fire Safety is actively promoted throughout the organisation.

• Full project management from inception to completion for a range of fire safety projects including obtaining all relevant approvals, effectively managing the fire safety programme against KPI's and budgets, collating relevant Fire Safety data and report writing, providing assurance monthly basis.

• Work closely with the colleagues to ensure fire safety compliance within the client, keeping abreast of changes to legislation, best practice and advice from governing bodies.

• Ensure that all works are monitored and managed in line with legislation and best practice, liaising with internal and external agencies, carrying out post inspections in line with the organisations policies and procedures.

• Ensure all Fire Safety related procedures are up to date and align with current legislation

• Develop and ensure staff awareness on Fire Safety matters

• Act as the Fire Officer - manage practice evacuations, monitor effectiveness, prepare reports and recommendations.

• Ensure all off-site activities operate within policy and comply with Fire Safety requirements

• Undertake fire risk assessments, individual fire door assessments and all other fire safety related assessments in accordance with guideline and best practice ensuring they are up to date and corrective actions are tracked, evidenced and completed by competent contractors and closed out in a timely manner.

• Investigate and make recommendations on any fire related incidents.

• Carry out relevant fire safety training for all staff.

• Assist in the emergency planning process and the Disaster Recovery plan and make recommendations in relation to the implementation and any improvements so to enable the company to respond effectively.

• Liaise with appropriate outside authorities including the Fire and Rescue Authority.

• Ensure internal and external audits are undertaken and compliance is met with our accreditations.

• Support the delivery of a high-quality building services and maintenance service, planned and capital works to the clients buildings and other client's properties in accordance with Company plans and legislation.

• Undertake any other reasonable duties/projects as required by your line manager/senior manager

Education and Qualifications:

• Recognised fire safety qualification, CFPA Fire Diploma, NEBOSH or equivalent

• Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers

What you need to know:

• Knowledge of key guidance such as LACORs, Approved Document B and BS999

• Experienced in handling complex fire safety issues with high risk implications e.g. sleeping accommodation

• Experience of advising on fire safety in the housing sector

• Ability to undertake Fire Risk Assessments, fire door assessments and all other fire safety related assessment and audits. Conforming to the relevant guidance, and be able to write appropriate reports and inform local teams, services and committees

• Effective presentation and training skills

• Excellent time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and work well under pressure
