Group Safety & Quality Manager – 12 Month Contract 
Aldridge, West Midlands (office/field based, with travel to other company sites) 
£40,000 per annum 

If you are a NEBOSH qualified safety professional from an engineering or manufacturing background, this is an amazing opportunity to take on a fresh, new challenge with a leading family-run business. 

Our client is the holding company of a group of three businesses: 

- A distributor of roofing products based in Aldridge 
- A supplier of welded fabrications to the piling market, and a stockholder of steel tubes and sections used in construction, also based in Aldridge 
- A stockholder of steel tubes and producer of laser cut tubular components based in St Helens

Our client is now looking for a Group Safety & Quality Manager to overhaul the group’s approach to the management of safety and quality. 

In this key role, you will help the group take an integrated approach to the management of safety and quality. You will oversee the restructuring and simplification of the group’s management systems, removing duplication, and making procedures more robust and easier to follow. 

You will develop the skills of the group’s management teams, enabling them to continually improve their processes. 

Additionally, you will: 

- Ensure that the group’s subsidiaries maintain third-party accreditation for various management systems 
- Work with management teams to reduce risk, improve risk and optimise performance 
- Advise on best practice and current legislation 
- Recommend ways to improve existing operations 
- Investigate customer complaints 
- Plan and conduct toolbox talks and training events 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

- A NEBOSH general certificate, ideally a NEBOSH diploma 
- A full, valid driving licence 

Experience of the following is also essential: 

- Managing safety in an engineering or manufacturing business 
- Managing quality in an engineering or manufacturing business 
- Using root cause analysis to ensure that effective corrective action is taken in response to accidents, dangerous occurrences, and quality nonconformities 
- Conducting risk assessments and drafting safe operating procedures 

As the Group Safety & Quality Manager, you’ll be highly organised and able to manage multiple projects at any one time. Analytical and proactive, you’ll also be a confident communicator with great collaboration skills.
