Job Title: 1st Line Support Technician

Location: Skipton

Salary: £18,000 - £24,000 depending on experience

Position: Permanent, Full Time

The company are currently looking for a First Line IT Support Technician to join their small but growing business. The right candidate must be reliable, hardworking, be self-motivated and have a keen interest in IT. We are very much a team here and the successful applicant must be able to work well with others and be willing to go that extra mile when needed. Good communication skills are vital as the candidate would be dealing with users both over the phone and in face to face situations.

The role will involve working with a number of different systems and software platforms such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Windows Server 2008 - 2016, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, all of which are essential requirements. Experience with basic hardware and networking is essential. Experience of VMware, Linux, Office 365, and VOIP would be advantageous but not essential.

Day to day duties will involve answering the phone / support emails and dealing the support issues and logging them into a helpdesk system. Therefore being organized and being able to prioritize work load is a must. Site visits will need to be made to various clients up and down the country so applicant must be prepared to travel. There will also be some admin and office duties such as ordering hardware and software, and organizing deliveries and collections to client's sites.

Hours of work are generally between 9:00am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday however given the nature of the business the applicant needs to be flexible as sometimes earlier starts and evening or weekend work are required.

Full Driving Licence Required.

Qualifications required:

  • Ideally 5 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English.
  • Either College level IT qualification or relevant work experience.
